This is to remind you about your Spanish homework which is due on Friday 1st October 2010.
You must get 5 pictures of people from the Internet or cut out from a magazine and glue them across a double spread in your exercise book. For each person, complete a speech bubble in which they say ‘hello’ (in Spanish) and say ‘I am called….’ and ‘I am….years old’)

Hola= hello

Me llamo…= I am called

Tengo….años= I am….years old

BONUS POINTS: Add in some extra language if you wish!

Write an answer (at least 4 lines) for each of the following questions:

1.  Qu’est-ce que tu aimes regarder a la tele? (What do you like to watch on TV?)

2. …et ton pere/ ta mere, qu’est-ce qu’il aime regarder?

(…and your dad/ mam, what does he/she like to watch?)

3. Qu’est-ce que tu vas regarder demain?
(What are you going to watch tomorrow?)

I recommend that you download and print the ‘Les medias Learning Mat’ from this blog as it has lots of useful vocabulary and structures to help you answer each question in detail and with a greater level of accuracy.

Please complete the work in your exercise book and hand in for marking on Friday 7th.

Write a brief postcard message to the rest of your class about where you have been/ what you have done over the bank holiday weekend. (100 words minimum).

Use as many past tense phrases and opinions as possible BUT do it without access to your book to test yourself on what you can do/ say from memory.

8MEL Set 1 French (Miss O’Brien) Research Homework

Apologies this post has been delayed- as a result you have an extension for this homework task and it is now due to be completed for Friday 30th April.

Task:  Research at least one of the following French TV shows and leave a detailed comment (but no more than 100 words) about your findings/ opinion.

We will read them out and discuss them in class on Friday.

You could comment on the similarities with English TV or the differences.  Or, you may have your own ideas for what to focus on.  It is your choice!  Have fun and good luck.

As committed students I trust that you will all complete the tasks attached. You must bring all of the work to our first lesson together after the Easter Holidays.

1. Read the text ‘Qu’est-ce que vous voudriez faire en vacances?’ from page 78. Make a list of 15 words you had to look up in the dictionary.

2. Complete exercises 1a/ 1b on page 78.

3. Download the attached document ‘Extension Reading 27 Des projets de vacances ‘ and complete the exercises.

4.  Download the attached document ”Transcript for Listening Activity page 79’.  Read and annotate it with any words you had to look up.  Using the transcript you must complete exercises 2a/ 2b on page 79.

5.  Read the test on page 80 ‘On vous propose….’.  Make a list of 10 words you had to look up in the dictionary (write the French and English in your ex.book).  Complete ex. 1a/ 1b in your exercise book.

6.  Download the attached document ‘Transcript for Listening Activity 2 Page 81’.  Read and annotate any unfamiliar vocabulary.  Use the transcript to complete ex. 2a/ 2b from page 81.
